HOUSTON, JANUARY 7, 2019 -- Clayton Hunt, the Libertarian candidate for Texas House District 145 in the 2018 midterm election has filed for the special election for the same office after his former opponent vacated for the State Senate.
“When I first announced in November of 2017, I ran with the intent of serving my neighbors in House District 145, my intention is the same, to fight for the freedom and prosperity of those who live and work in my district!” Clayton is a native Houstonian and has been fighting as a political activist for almost a decade.
In his first run for office, Clayton garnered almost 10% of the vote, surpassing all expectations for a third party candidate.
“I’m not a career politician, I’m an average guy who knows that when the average person steps up, they can change the world. I want to strike a blow against the two-party system that has let down the residents of House District 145, and this election presents us with an opportunity to do that!”
